- Our 6 step program includes:
- Early Spring – Organic blended fertilizer – Pre-emergent crab grass control – Broadleaf weed control
- Late Spring – Organic blended fertilizer – 1/2 rate Pre-emergent crab grass control – Broadleaf weed control
- Early Summer – Micro Nutrients – Broadleaf weed control – Systemic Grub & Insect control
- Late Summer – Organic blended fertilizer – Check for grub & surface insects, follow-up as required- Spot spray late summer weed control as needed
- Early Fall – Organic blended fertilizer/Winterize – Weed control – Grub control follow-up as needed
- Late Fall – Lime to maintain your soil’s PH
The only thing that is not included in our 6 step program is fungus control and any type of seeding work. The reason why we don’t include fungus and disease control in our annual program is because a true fungicide program starts in May and goes through the summer ending in September. The applications are about 3 weeks apart. Not only does this get expensive, but we believe that large amounts of fungicide are not a safe approach for the environment and your family.
Here at Greenskeeper Lawn Care, we use an organic blend. By using the least amount of controlled products as possible we achieve a safe and desired result.
You may experience some problems in between services, please remember we are trying to get results by using the least amount of a controlled product as necessary. If you do experience unwanted issues such as excessive weeds, brown spots, etc. Simply give us a call and we will come and address the problem as part of your annual lawn care package at no additional charge to you. If fungus is present, we will have to analyze and develop a fungicide program or recommend an aeration or a slice seeding application.
Anytime we apply a controlled product to your lawn we will always post a yellow flag, even if we spray just 1 weed or make an IPM application to a certain area of your lawn.
What is IPM? (Integrated Pest Management)
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management that relies on a combination of common-sense practices. IPM programs use current, comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment. This information, in combination with available pest control methods, is used to manage pest damage by the most economical means, and with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment. The IPM approach can be applied to both agricultural and non-agricultural settings, such as the home, garden, and workplace. IPM takes advantage of all appropriate pest management options including, but not limited to, the judicious use of pesticides. In contrast, organic food production applies many of the same concepts as IPM but limits the use of pesticides to those that are produced from natural sources, as opposed to synthetic chemicals.
